WASHINGTON, D.C. – In case you missed it, Americans for Prosperity Foundation (AFPF)-Oklahoma State Director John Tidwell advocated for parental rights and school choice at a rally in front of the United States Supreme Court today during oral arguments for St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School v. Drummond

“Parents are the primary educators of their children,” Tidwell told the crowd gathered by the Supreme Court steps. “They know their children’s needs, strengths, and dreams better than anyone else. By supporting institutions like St. Isidore, we empower parents to make decisions that best suit their families. This isn’t a radical idea; it’s a reaffirmation of the freedoms we hold dear.”

AFPF signed onto an amicus brief in support of St. Isidore and the Oklahoma Statewide Virtual Charter School Board in their lawsuit to be included in Oklahoma’s school choice program. The brief highlights the benefits students receive from educational pluralism provided by a market of private providers, including religious schools.

In Oklahoma and across the nation, AFPF will continue fighting for every child, every choice and every opportunity in education.
