The Emergency Powers Reform Project is focused on ending rampant government abuse of “emergency powers” that too often provide a false justification for bypassing Congress to implement policies that would never otherwise pass into law.
RIGHT ON TRANSPARENCY
A group of leading right-of-center groups launched the “Right on Transparency” coalition dedicated to comprehensive government transparency reform with an eye to increasing accountability and creating a more engaged citizenry. The coalition is dedicated to the principles of open government, and, to further those principles, will draft model policies at the state level and educate the public on transparency laws and issues.
Gone in an instant
Cause of Action Institute and Americans for Prosperity Foundation began investigating dozens of agencies’ Instant Messaging records management policies and practices. We find that many of the forty federal agencies we investigated have inadequate records management policies that fail to properly account for instant messaging.
Closed for business
Our investigation revealed that the Kansas government arbitrarily chose which businesses could stay open amid the pandemic and shut down businesses that were willing and able to comply with health and safety guidelines.
